Licensing and Contract

Workshop
  • Why this workshop?

Licensing: Learn licensing basics: what is licensing and why we license images. How to manage client conversions around licensing, including my word-for-word script and how to handle tough conversations with clients. I’ll be sharing pricing a license with examples from my career spanning a decade. Including licenses from around the world and licenses from $1 to $10,000. We’ll cover licensing tips and must-haves for pricing, how to build licensing into a contract and invoice, as well as, licensing Q+A and discussion.

Contracts: Do you want to learn what legal rights you have by creating photos and videos and how you can use them to leverage contract negotiations? Do you struggle to understand legalese? (Hey, most people do!) Do you freak out when a brand or restaurant sends you a contract to review? Would you like to be in a position to understand what certain legal terms mean so you can negotiate for MORE? If so, then this Licensing and Contract Workshop is for you! By the end, you will walk away with a much better understanding of your rights, how to leverage them in contract negotiations, and how to mark-up parts of a proposed contract. I am excited to explain all the legalese in terms that make sense so you can better protect your business and get paid more.

Who is it for? This workshop is geared towards anyone and everyone who works with brands, restaurants, other food photographers or bloggers, virtual assistants, or any other person or business. Learning about licensing and related key contract provisions will help you in your business and with every contract you or your business enters into throughout life. Anyone who earns compensation or commissions from taking photos needs to understand the mechanics and legal nature of licensing photos to clients. Aimed at beginner and intermediate photographers.

When and where is it? This is a 1 day virtual, hands-on workshop will take place online August 11, 2023. There will be a replay available in the following weeks for attendees only. This is an actual working session where you’ll accomplish big things!

    • Rachel Korinek (she/her) – Hi! I’m Rachel, an Aussie transplant, professional food photographer and the founder of Two Loves, a studio and online workshop platform that blends my passions for food and photography.
